Nickel Sulfate (NiSo4) a green to yellow crystalline (sand-like), odorless solid. It is used to make other Nickel compounds, as a mordant in dyeing and printing textiles, and in coatings and ceramics.
The main use of NiSo4 is as the electrolyte for the metal- finishing application of nickel electroplating. Used as a mordant, in coloring metals, in ceramics and for producing driers for use in protective shields. A special nickel-iron alloy is widely used in lead frames, while a Cu-Ni-Sn alloy is used in terminals, clips and springs.
NiSo4 is used in electroplating baths and for the production of other nickel compounds for example nickel hydroxide as a reducing agent for flashing on steel surfaces, imparting Nickel coating from the surface, for blackening Brass and Zinc, as a mordant in dyeing and printing metals textiles, and ceramics as a coating for many metals.
Some of the Nickel Sulphate’s applications are found in metal coating, ceramics, blackening brass.
