Ferro Nickel (FeNi) is a shiny metallic solid material and can be obtained from the carbothermic reduction of serpentinic minerals, such as serpentine, limonite, or garnierite. It enables the production of products with special electronic, magnetic and catalytic properties.
FeNi is ferroalloy used for alloying of stainless and construction steels. There are several types of ferronickel. It is produced from different nickel containing alloys scraps (usually also contain Cr and Co, Mo, W, Ti, Cu, Si, etc impurities) or produced in reduction furnaces from nickel concentrates, obtained by the process of carbothermic reduction of minerals like limonite, serpentine, and garnierite. It can contain high/low Ni and Fe content.
Some of the major product applications are used in sectors like Engineering, Transport, Electrical and electronic, Building and construction, Metal goods and tubular products, EV batteries, electronics, and stainless steel
