FeMn is made by heating a mixture of oxides, Manganese Dioxide (MnO2) and Ferric Oxide (Fe2O3) with high carbon content. The oxides go through carbothermal reduction in the furnaces that result in producing Ferro Manganese.
The FeMn alloy is notable for its low melting point and tensile strength. It is used as deoxidizer and desulfurizer for production of steel.
It is available in multiple sizes and grades and is broadly used in the manufacture of different types of steel. It also finds application as an agent of alloying in the manufacture of iron castings.
Some of the applications of Ferro manganese are majorly found in the production of steel, alloying, iron casting.

There are two types of ferrochrome based on the quantity of carbon. These include LC ferrochrome and HC ferrochrome.
Know MoreIt is a shiny metallic solid material and can be obtained from the carbothermic reduction of serpentinic minerals, such as serpentine, limonite, or garnierite.
