Cobalt Sulphate (CoSO4) is one of the inorganic compounds with the formula CoSO4(H2O)x. Usually cobalt sulfate refers to the hexa- or heptahydrates CoSO4.6H2O or CoSO4.7H2O, respectively. It is an odorless reddish metallic salt, which is readily soluble in water and methanol.
Cobalt oxide or other cobalt derivatives are dissolved in dilute sulfuric acid, which crystallizes to form cobalt sulfate. In addition, large amount of cobalt sulfate is produced as a by-product during the manufacturing of various metals, such as nickel and copper.
Some of Cobalt Sulphate applications are found in industries like super alloy industry, batteries, glass.
