Cadmium
Cd is a soft, silvery-white metal is chemically similar to the two other stable metals in group 12, zinc and mercury.
It is a minor metallic element, one of the naturally occurring components in the earth’s crust and waters, and present everywhere in our environment. Most cadmium metal today is produced as a by-product of the extraction, smelting and refining of the nonferrous metals – zinc, lead and copper.
